uICE is the most comprehensive solution to control a Windows system with remote controls, packed with features and highly customizable. This section lists the most important features, follow the links to get a more detailed description. Control any kind of Windows application, not just DVD players or Winamp. With its universal collection of application controlling methods, you can take control not only by simulating keystrokes. When working with your PC, many operations do not deal with applications directly. Many actions you would usually take manually can now also be performed with your remote control. Especially when using your computer as a multimedia machine for watching TV/DVD or listening to your favorite songs, you would certainly welcome controlling common actions from the couch, like shutting down the computer or adjusting the soundcard's volume. uICE pays one of its main attentions to the usually quite limited amount of remote control buttons. Two absolutely unique features prevent you from running out of free buttons: application folders and multi-layout buttons. uICE supports macros to perform even complex actions sequences with a single remote control button. To have visual feedback when pressing a button on the remote control, uICE can display different kinds of OSDs. Just like modern TV sets, uICE comes with an On-Screen Menu featuring multi-application control, layout switching, sleep and wake-up timers. uICE can be easily extended to support additional remote controls and provides an interface for application developers to be remote-ready without hardware programming. System automation is a complex task, requiring knowledge of how the system works internally. uICE provides help and assistants whereever possible to achieve satisfying results. For commonly used configurations, uICE provides support for importing and exporting presets and application folders. Configure uICE via its Office-style user interface, which can be accessed from the system tray. Context help and documentation uICE comes with comprehensive documentation in HTML Help format, as well as context sensitive help support.
